Participants will understand the importance of adopting a democratic intervention style to guide children’s behaviour. They will learn to distinguish this style from the more traditional authoritative and “laissez-faire” approach. This workshop presents positive intervention strategies which have lifelong benefits on children’s development. Democratic styles of intervention are explored through creative and hands-on activities promising to leave everyone with an inspiring drive to examine their own intervention practices. Furthermore, it will motivate the participants to appreciate democratic values and incorporate them in their approach with children, parents, and colleagues.
Negative behaviour, by nature, is difficult to manage, and adults look for logical consequences “to stop” these behaviours. Looking for democratic solutions that change behaviour is more effective! This workshop presents concrete strategies that turn these behaviours into positive ones with simple, yet effective tips and techniques. This approach will not only improve children’s behaviour but will also have a dramatic effect on how they interact, play, and learn. |
